Moving on up

The Zach Blog has a new home.

I was surprised at how much effort adding a single post required. We've moved the Zach Blog to Google's Blogger service for a whole bunch of reasons.

  • Make posting easier - it's so easy, I stand a chance of talking Melissa into posting.
  • Readers can now leave comments on each post.
  • Integration with other Google services - see the video below and my Google reader shared items in the lower right.
  • Less obscure address

Thanks to Google's integration, we have video of Zach rolling over to share.

More to come.

-Mike

Rollin', rollin', rollin'

Zach rolled over for the first time on his own tonight. And then, clearly proud of himself, he did it over and over until he was all worn out.

He was kicking his feet too once he got on his stomach. He didn't go anywhere (yet). By the look of things, its only a matter of time before we'll be chasing him.

Scary and exciting times.

Christening pictures and more

This past Sunday Zach got all dressed up to be forgiven for things he didn't do. And we took photos. Unfortunately, because the church had low light and babies move fast, we didn't get to many pictures of the ceremony. Click here for the snapfish album.

I also cleared out a backlog of pictures, so there is a bonus album.

That is him standing on his own in several of the pictures. If I find the time, I'm going to combine them into one animated picture. It should look like him dancing.

Portraits and Fingers

Two Saturdays ago we took Zach for his first set of portraits. You can see the results (and I think order prints) by clicking the following link - Sears Photo.

Zach is getting increasingly proficient at kicking his legs and moving his arms when he's on his back. He loves the toy pictured that arches over him and plays music. It's an absolute joy to watch.

Also in the picture, you can see he's figured out how to put his fingers in his mouth. This weekend he went one step further and grabbed a rattle by himself a few times.

First Post

Welcome to The Zach Blog.

Creating something like this was suggested before Zach was born. Melissa and I discounted the idea because generally we think blogs are complete vanity projects. Fast forward 2 months and I for one am having trouble keeping straight who I've told what about the little fella.

To solve that problem, we've created The Zach Blog. A one stop shop for the latest happenings and pictures of everyone's favorite baby.

So bookmark this page. It will be updated regularly.
